Aleksander Serguéyevich Pushkin (Moscú, 26 de mayo de 1799. – San Petersburgo, 29 de febrero de 1837) fue un poeta, dramaturgo y novelista ruso, fundador de la literatura rusa moderna.

Fue pionero en el uso de la lengua vernácula en sus obras, creando un estilo narrativo —mezcla de drama, romance y sátira— que fue desde entonces asociado a la literatura rusa e influyó notablemente en posteriores figuras literarias como Nikolái Gógol, Fiódor Dostoyevski, León  Tolstói y Fiódor IvánovichTiútchev.
