What is an intellectual property license?
 
It is a document that recognizes your property rights and states which rights you keep and which ones you authorize others to use. You can obtain it signing your work at any intellectual property register.
 
Do I have to sign my work at an intellectual property register?
 
This is a voluntary procedure in which you declare your authorship and specify your work’s rights administration. You don’t have to sign your book in order to get legal protection, but the registration can be used as a proof of your authorship.
 
Where can I sign my book?
 
You can do it at any of the Intellectual Property Register offices in your country, at http://www.safecreative.org/, or using Bubok’s automatic registration in Safecreative. You will find this option during the publishing process of your book, in the “Price” step. Contact us if you have any questions. 
 
Which license should I use for my book?

According to Creative Commons, these are the most usual licenses:
 
-Copyright. You keep all rights. It is not possible to distribute or modify your work without your permission, and your authorship must be always recognized.
 
– Attribution. Distribution, editions and modifications can be done to your work. However, authorship must be always recognized.
 
– Non commercial attribution. Distribution, editions and modifications can be done to your work. However, authorship must be always recognized and no profits must be made with your work.
 
– Attribution – non comercial – share alike. Distribution, editions and modifications can be done to your work. However, authorship must be always recognized and no profits must be made with your work. Licensees may distribute derivative works only under a license identical to the license that governs the original work.
